"CitrusZING" by Revlon (c.2000)

I like to keep an eye out for old cosmetics when I'm at thrift stores or estate sales, mostly because I like to look at old "everyday" objects. I've been watching Vintage Dusties content and (according to her) nail polishes made after the 1980s should be safe to use since that's when the most toxic chemicals were banned for use in cosmetics. I don't really come across vintage nail polishes in the wild but I figured, what the heck, if I see something I think is pretty I'll get it and use it.

Well, this weekend one of the thrift stores near me got a TON of 1990s-2010s nail polishes. I grabbed a little mini collection out of the colors I like best and will be having fun trying them out over the next few months :)

The first one I tried is from Revlon's Winter 2000 Color Zing collection. Here's an ad for the collection from the December 12, 1999 Springfield News-Sun of Springfield, Ohio:

This is CitrusZING, as modeled on my fingers, using my cat as the backdrop LOL.

It's hard to capture the colors accurately. The base is kind of a goldy-bronzey color and there's yellow gold/rose gold duochrome glitter. You can kind of see the rose gold on my index finger in the direct light photo on the right? It really only appears at extreme angles. I think this color would probably look a bit more interesting if I had a tan but I still think it's neat :)
