purple cat eye/magnet gel nails

I started getting gel nails done around this time last year. Even using Minimo (a site/app that lets you find discount salons, usually trainees who need to put in their hours to get certified in hair/nails/etc), the costs add up… so my bestie (honooko) came over the other day, brought all of her supplies, and taught me how to do my gel nails!

I made the mistake of starting with a magnet gel. It mostly came out OK but some of my fingers (mostly on my right/dominant hand) don't look as nice. Otherwise, doing the gel by myself wasn't as difficult as I expected/feared! Getting off my other manicure was harder, but I didn't paint on the gel as thick as the salon so I think this will be easier to remove…

I asked for a UV gel nail light for Christmas so I can keep doing my own nails! I used to do some pretty elaborate nail art and I'm looking forward to doing that again. (I usually get solid color manicures when I go to a salon because I'm cheap…)

Ooh super pretty! I love polishes that look like they are black at first glance but are actually a really deep dark other color.
